DIY beauty hacks that actually work

We all know the basics of beauty hacks – using lemons as a natural astringent, applying Vaseline to our eyelashes before bed to make them grow longer, etc. But what about some more creative and unique DIY beauty hacks that you may not have heard of? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Use green tea bags as an under-eye treatment. Simply steep two green tea bags in hot water for a few minutes, then remove and allow them to cool slightly. Once they’re warm enough to comfortably place on your skin, lie down and place the tea bags over your eyes. The caffeine and tannins in the green tea will help reduce puffiness and dark circles.

2. Make your own dry shampoo. If you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to wash your hair, simply mix together 1 tablespoon each of cornstarch and cocoa powder. Apply the mixture to your roots with a brush or your fingers, then comb through to distribute evenly. The cornstarch will absorb excess oil while the cocoa powder helps camouflage any grease or grime.

3. Get rid of pesky blackheads with this simple DIY pore strip hack: combine 1 teaspoon each of milk and gelatin in a small bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds until the mixture is liquidy (but not boiling). Quickly apply it to your nose while it’s still warm using a cotton swab or your finger, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it dries completely and forms a “strip”. Once dry, slowly peel off the strip starting from the edges – all those blackheads should come right off with it!
